Indoor Classroom

Our carefully prepared environment provides opportunities for children to become competent and confident learners. Children are given lessons on the use of the Montessori Materials and many other educational resources.

Outdoor Classroom

Montessori Materials

Materials are carefully placed in order from left to right and top to bottom indirectly  preparing the chid for reading writing.

Every material placed on the shelf has a purpose, they must have control of error to allow children to work and correct themselves independently.

There are five main areas in the classroom:

Practical life materials are designed to provide concentration, coordination, a sense of order and independence.

Sensorial materials allow children to use their senses to discriminate between sizes, textures, length, weight, smell, sound, etc.

Language materials are designed to prepare children for reading and writing.

Math materials allow children to build pre-math foundations, concept of numbers and logical thought leading to arithmetic equations.

Cultural materials offer the child the opportunity to explore

zoology:  parts of a mammal, bird, reptile, etc.

botany: parts of the tree, leaf, flower, etc.

geography: maps of the continents of the world.
